Welcome to VISL EMPLOYEES CO-OPERATIVE BANK LIMITED
The VISL Employees’ Co-op. Bank Ltd., Bhadravathi was earlier registered in the name of “Bhadravathi Iron And Steel Workers Banking Society Ltd ” Bhadravathi on 05-03-1925 under the Register of Co-Operative Society Act, Shimoga.
Initially, the jurisdiction of the society was limited to VISL and MPM town ship and Below Taluk Level. Gradually, the Society has continued to register a steady growth in business and earnings, the then management of the bank realized the vital need of the Society to extend its area of operation as well as to obtain Banking License from Reserve Bank of India so as to carry Banking business. Speaking to the need of issue in its own style with deep faith, vision, optimism & entrepreneurial skill the management achieved its dream by obtaining Banking Licence from RBI in 1988 under the Title “LIC Employees’ Co-op. Bank Ltd., Udupi”. Simultaneously, the bank has also obtained the permission to extend its area of operation covering for the purpose of VISL Worker and MPM Worker and Below Taluk Level.
Realising the need of full pledged Banking service to the Members/Customers of the Bank, the then President Sri. Dharasatha and Vice President Sri. K B D Bheeraiah, achieved commendable feat by obtaining Banking Business licence from RBI on 03-08-1988. But in the year of 2005 the Bank Name as been Changes to “VISL EMPLOYEES CO-OPERATIVE BANK LTD” and obtaining the modified licence issued by Reserve Bank of Indian on Dated: 15-03-2005.
While registering unprecedented growth for past 2 decades a renowned personality in administration and planning the then President Sri. Dharasatha with team of Board of Directors’ achieved a milestone in the history of the bank by Making Conversation with VISL Factory by constructing own building in the area of 1/2acerin the premises of VISL Town Ship on 29-11-1980 and on 29-11-1983 the Bank switched its business operation from “VISL Consumer Co-Operative Society building” UB road New Town Bhadravathi, to its own office premises at UB Road New Town, Opp. New Town Police Station Bhadravathi.
Realising the necessity of convenient Banking hours to the VISL working class members, the concept of evening counter was first introduced in our bank in the early year of 1929, which was achieved a great success. Thus, the very purpose of co-operative movement enabled the bank to bring together, all the serving class VISL Employees’ under one Umbrella of “ VISL EMPLOYEES’ CO-OPEATIVE BANK LTD., NEW TOWN BHADRAVATHI” by facilitating them with all banking needs.
Behind the successful growth story of the bank, the unparallel, dedicated service, honest and selfless efforts put in by our Ex-presidents, Vice-Presidents , Executive Directors, Board of Directors, Secretary’s and as well as Ex-employees of the bank are always rememberable.
Lastly, the management place on record the overwhelming support extended by our members/serving and ex-employees of VISL and vast clientele of bank to achieve overall success and thereby enable the bank to sustain “B” grade audit classification since inception.
